What is the use of “Reference” in a Smart Query?

Hello @archanask, the term ‘Reference’ is used to indicate that a smart query should only be used for reference purposes and should not be included in the knowledge base of Athena. For example, if there are more than 10 smart queries used to build one smart query, each query has its own columns and metadata that are not necessary for understanding and would only increase the query response time, we can mark a particular table or smart query as ‘Reference’. This will prevent it from being loaded into the knowledge base of Athena, thus improving its understanding and query performance. I hope this explanation helps.
